The Minister of State Harelimana Cyriaque participated in a weekly citizens outreach program in Rulindo district, Base Sector and he urged the residents of the sector to work hard for their wellbeing and prosperity.

Citizens outreach program consist of leaders getting closer with community assemblies across the country to resolve their problems and discuss their local economic development.

Hon. Harelimana told the gathering; “My major message is that you, residents, must reach a certain higher economic level, but it requires seizing present opportunities, working hard and collaboration. Our President wants us to develop. Our young people must work hard to create jobs. A successful implementation requires partnership between residents and leaders.”

“Every activity is being done in your interest. That’s why I appeal to local leaders to inform you about activities and plans so that you can own them and participate as well in their implementation,” Harelimana reminded the residents.

He also encouraged the parents to sustain hygiene everywhere, and residents were requested to cooperate with their leaders to curb school drop-out.

The governor of Northern Province, Mr Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney urged the residents to fight back domestic violence and illicit sexual intercourse.

“We don’t want to see young girls with unwanted pregnancies. These problems drag some families towards the desired development.”

Besides, Hon. Harelimana visited socio-economic projects including Base modern butchery, Ikirenga Stadium and Diana Fossey Hotel.
