Hon. Ministers Roger and Kaboneka

Yesterday, Hon. Minister KABONEKA Francis together with high officials in the Ministry of Local Government received German delegation led by Hon. Roger Lewentz, the Minister of Interior, Infrastructure and Sports in the State of Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.

Minister Kaboneka who welcomed his counterpart Minister Roger Lewentz and his 25 members of delegation, on behalf of Rwandan Government expressed gratitude to the people of Germany and in particular those of Rhineland Palatinate for their enormous support and contribution to Rwanda’s development in the sectors of Education, Health, Schools and supporting persons with disabilities..

Besides visiting different socio-economic programmes and projects supported by Germans through the existing cooperation and partnership framework between Rwanda and Rhineland Palatinate, the delegation members include businessmen who want to explore investment potentialities in Rwanda.

“We mostly thank you Hon. Minister for mobilizing German businessmen to come to explore business opportunities and potentialities they can invest in here in Rwanda. Our country is still virgin as far as investment opportunities are concerned. Rwanda has a good record in facilitating business; you can register your business within only six hours.”

Hon. Minister Roger Lewentz appreciated the hospitality accorded to them since their arrival. He added that him and his delegation had come to explore areas that the existing partnership can be enhanced and mostly importantly partnering in inclusive education, handicraft, TVET education support, lottery and gaming, tourism and infrastructure.

“Our business community wish to partner in business to business communities within Rwanda and Rhineland Palatinate and cooperation in the field of justice and law” affirmed Hon. Minister Lewentz.

Both Ministers exchanged the gifts as symbol of good relationship between Rwanda and Rhineland Palatinate State.

On Sunday, the members of delegation visited Kigali Genocide Memorial and they are expecting to visit Districts where they finance projects and touristic sites to explore beauty of Rwanda.
