RWANDA COMMITED TO INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT – KABONEKA

The Minister of Local Government Hon. KABONEKA Francis urged the residents of Mugunga, Gatonde and Rusasa sectors in Gakenke district to work hard to achieve their socioeconomic development.

Minister Kaboneka made the remarks during a one day official visit in Gakenke District. He also attended Citizens’ complaints’ resolution session that takes place across the country every Thursday.

The citizen’s complaints resolution day is a Government outreach initiative aiming at empowering citizens by holding accountable the leadership.

Minister Kaboneka commended the residents of Gakenke for their contribution and commitment to national development and social welfare. He also reminded them that all achievements happened thanks to collaboration and commitment to development which is still needed. He reiterated the Government commitment to ensure inclusive governance and development for all.

“There is no part of Rwanda which is discounted as far as Government development programs are concerned. Rwanda remains committed to promoting inclusive governance. As you know, there is a project to construct a modern hospital in this area and to construct a better road. The Government shall also extend clean water and electricity according to available resources. It all requires and needs your collaboration and community participation,” Minister Kaboneka noted.

He emphasized that; security must be sustained. Security starts from home amongst family members before it reaches community members. He urged the residents to avoid conflicts.

He called upon residents to uphold hygiene and sanitation physically and back their homes.

Minister Kaboneka together with the Governor of Northern Province, Mayor of Gakenke, District officials, Rwanda National Police and Rwanda Defense Forces officials visited different infrastructures including Gatonde health center which will be upgraded into the district hospital.
