MODEL VILLAGE IS THE WAY TO GO FOR MODERN SETTLEMENT

The Minister of State for Socio-Economic Development, Hon. Harelimana Cyriaque inaugurated, today, Mutenderi Model Village in Ngoma District. He told the residents that; appropriate housing for all Rwandans is one of Rwanda’s Government program.

 

He said; “More than 45% of people still need to be resettled where access to infrastructure including different service, schools, hospitals, electricity and markets among others will be easier. The government is expecting to construct about 120 models villages; 4 in each district and 340,000 modern houses of which 80% will be in rural areas.”

 

Nyirabukwengeri Appolinarie, one of the beneficiaries who spoke on the behalf of others in Mutenderi said; “We thank our President Kagame for setting a foundation for our life; this is the beginning of our new era, this is now our time to work for ourselves. I’d like to tell my colleagues that we must not sit and wait for other support to feed us, let’s wake up and go to work every morning for our own development.”

 

The residents were required to maintain their houses by ensuring their hygiene.

 

State Minister Harelimana Cyriaque visited also Rusumo One Stop Border Post, Nasho Irrigation Project and other development projects in Kirehe and Ngoma districts.
