FRENCH NATIONALS IN CSO VISITED MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT


Today, 4th December 2017, the Minister of State in charge of Socio-Economic Development Hon. Cyriaque Harelimana received and interacted with French nationals in Civil Society Organisation involved in supporting community development initiatives and social projects in Gicumbi district.

They are Dr. Jacques Lalande, Francois Lalande and Eric Shlumberger accompanied by Rev. Dr. Bataringanya Pascal of the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda.

These partners fund the local organization L’appel which deals with health, education, access to water and living conditions. They were interested in knowing how far Rwanda has gone and they were taken through Rwanda’s socio-economic transformation up to date mostly in governance, economic and social sectors.

The Minister of State Cyriaque Harelimana appreciated their support render towards improving social conditions of vulnerable Rwandans within Districts they operate in.

Minister Cyriaque affirmed to them that; everything we do is in the interest of our citizens’ socio-economic development and how they are governed. Therefore, their interventions supplement Government efforts to improve the lives of our people and national development.

As French citizens, they emphasized that they would like to see diplomatic relationship between France and Rwanda improved, though they always enjoy the freedom while in Rwanda, as it would be better.

They promised to continue helping social development programs in Rwanda to support the country to achieve the goals, and make an advocacy before their leaders to improve the cooperation between France and Rwanda.
