Sunday, 26 May 2019, at the enthronement of the Bishop of E.A.R/Gahini Diocese, Rev. Dr. Gahima Manasseh, Hon. Minister of Local Government Prof. Shyaka Anastase commended the fruitful partnership between Government and Religious Organisations.
Bishop Rev. Dr. Gahima Manasseh was enthroned to replace Rt. Dr. Bilindabagabo Alexis who has recently decided to retire after spending 22 years at Gahini Diocese (since 1997).
Addressing hundreds of believers who attended the event, Hon. Minister Shyaka Anastase said: “I thank Religious Organisations operating in Rwanda, they are good partners. In particular, as a country we share a lot of things with Anglican Church of Rwanda, especially the understanding that ‘a good soul must live in a healthy body’.”
“Religious Organisations partner with us in different programs, including in the socio-economic transformation and human capital development – Education, health (to name a few).”
The ceremony took place at St Johns’ cathedral, EAR Gahini, in Kayonza District, in presence of different dignitaries including, cabinet members, parliament members, leaders from different public institutions and security organs; Religious leaders from Rwanda and abroad, hundreds of members and friends of Anglican Church of Rwanda from Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Kenya, USA, and Australia.
