Minister Shyaka visited Nyagatare District

The visit was conducted between 12-14 June 2020 where he visited different developmental projects under-construction including Gishuro (Kaborogota) IDP Model Village project that will host 64 families and other infrastructures affiliated to it.

The other infrastructures also visited include 19 KM chip seal road and few other access roads; G.S. Tabagwe; Tabagwe Health Center; Markets; Integrated handcraft centre; Water and electricity projects.

The Hon. Minister also met local leaders, representatives of PSF and opinion leaders in Karama, Gatunda, Rwempasha and Musheri Sectors.

Minister Shyaka called upon local leaders focus on eradicating several malpractices that have ravaged this area for a long time, including Gender-Based Violence; polygamous marriages; batteries and assaults, drug trafficking and drug-abuse; illegal border-crossing; smuggling; and many other cross border crimes, to name a few.

“Leaders here with us today, you are the ones to inspire positive change in your respective areas, and fight against crimes. Once you change as a leader, citizens will emulate you. We want to see Rwandans transformed in all aspects of their daily life, and participating in maintaining security and sustainable growth and development.” He said.

Local leaders were also encouraged to put more efforts in the implementation of measures put in place by the Government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
