FORMER MINISTER KABONEKA HANDS OVER OFFICE TO NEW MINISTER SHYAKA

On Monday, the 22nd of October 2018, the former minister of Local Government Hon. Kaboneka Francis handed over office to the new Minister of local government Prof. Shyaka Anastase during the ceremony that brought together Governors and District Mayors.

During the handover ceremony, Minister Kaboneka thanked the President of Republic of Rwanda for entrusting him with responsibility for more than four years working as minister of Local Government.

He said: Let me take this opportunity once to thank the President of Republic of Rwanda for the trust he had and still has in me. I’d also like to recognised RPF Inkotanyi that has shaped me to make me who I am today.”

Minister Kaboneka also expressed gratitude for the staff members of the Ministry of Local Government who have been working and supporting him for four years long.

The Minister of State for Socio-economic Development, Hon. Harelimana Cyriaque also handed over his office to the Minster as the office no longer exists.

The newly appointed Minister of Local Government, Prof Shyaka Anastase also thanked the President of the Republic of Rwanda for trust in him with privileged assignment. He also called upon the local government to support him to accomplish his duties.

On Friday last week the President of the Republic of Rwanda H.E Paul Kagame officiated at the swearing-in of newly appointed Cabinet Members and other senior government officials. Prof Anastase Shyaka who was appointed as new minister of Local Government, replaces Minister Kaboneka Francis who has been serving in this position since 2014.
