KIGALI: MINISTER SHYAKA MEETS LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR INTRODUCTORY ENCOUNTER
It was the first meeting between the newly appointed Minister of Local Government and Local Government leaders purposely to discuss on strategies to accelerate performance utilising the existing opportunities for development, responsibility and collaboration.
Minister Shyaka reiterated that every leader has to maximize the responsibility and overcome the prevailing challenges and where there are challenges, they have to be reported timely for remedial actions by relevant organs.
He also insisted on engaging citizens and development partners in every activity for ownership, participation and sustainability.
Minister Shyaka said: “We need to change our performance routine; local government in 2018 shouldn't perform like the LG of 2008 or 2012. The performance of central organs and national development depend on transformational of Local Government.”
