Local Government Officials attend Delivery Mechanisms’ Training

The Local Government Delivery Mechanisms’ Training was officially concluded on Friday, 30 May 2025, at Gishari Police Training School, Rwamagana - in a ceremony presided over by Minister Patrice Mugenzi.

The Local Government Delivery Training has been organized by the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC) in collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI), as a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of local government officials to deliver national priorities effectively.

The training emphasizes alignment with the NST2, SSPs, District and City Development Strategies 2024-29 while reinforcing links to Vision 2050. Key areas of focus include Priority Setting, Policy Alignment, Planning for Results, and Performance Management.

The training focused on enhancing local governments' ability to turn strategic goals into real outcomes by emphasizing the Delivery Approach, which includes critical areas like priority setting, policy alignment, planning, and performance management. In this training, the National Strategic for Transformation (NST2) designed to provide the strategic direction for national development with a central focus on improving the lives of Rwandans and ensuring sustainable economic growth and development will be explored in its four pillars, particularly on social transformation.

The primary objectives of the training was to equip Local Government Officials with Delivery Tools.

Participants explored the concept of —what it is, why it matters, and how it Delivery can be integrated into local government practices. The training will emphasize the importance of moving from intent to impact through disciplined and practical implementation methods.
