Minister Habimana and State Minister Kayisire tour development projects in the Southern Province
Between 11 and 12 August 2025, during a two-day working visit to the Southern Province, Minister Dominique Habimana, State Minister Marie Solange Kayisire, and other local government leaders toured a range of development projects.
On Monday, 11 August, they visited the Gisagara Peat Plant, which generates electricity, where they held discussions with the plant’s management and members of the surrounding community who have gained employment through this investment. On the same day, they also visited Ruhuha Model Village in Mamba Sector, where residents shared their experiences of life in the modernised village compared to the hardships they faced in their former high-risk settlements.
On Tuesday, the MINALOC leadership toured Huye District’s Industrial Zone and the Labophar Pharmaceutical Plant, among other projects, to assess progress and evaluate their contribution to national and social development.
Minister Habimana commended these initiatives and urged investors and local leaders to work closely together to ensure that such investments serve as real catalysts for socio-economic development.
