Minister Habimana urges NRS Staff to uphold professionalism

Sunday, September 13, 2026:  Minister Dominique Habimana officially opened a training programme for leaders and staff of the National Rehabilitation Service (NRS), at the Police Training School in Gishari, Rwamagana District. The training focuses on linking NRS’s rehabilitation mission with national values and security.

Minister Habimana commended the staff and leaders for their contribution to rehabilitating and transforming people affected by behaviours that negatively impact society.

“The responsibility you carry is significant because the country we are building is one that does not want to leave any Rwandan behind. It is a country that does not want to see its young people trapped in drug abuse or losing their cultural values. The vision we have requires capable and healthy Rwandans,” he said.

He urged them to remain results-oriented, professional and committed to delivering tangible outcomes.

“Each of you is expected to continuously reflect on what you want to achieve and find ways to achieve it, rather than focusing only on challenges and using them as excuses. You should also be good role models for the people you are rehabilitating,” he said.

NRS carries out its rehabilitation mandate through several rehabilitation centres, including Ngarama in Gatsibo district, Nyamagabe, Gitagata in Bugesera District, and Iwawa in Rutsiro District.
