Rwanda completes digitalisation of CRVS modules
Rwanda launched on Tuesday the last two registers (Guardianship and Legitimization) that were the last modules of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics to be digitalised. The completion comes ahead of 2024 schedule which was set by the Government of Rwanda.
Digitalisation of CRVS enhances the service delivery journey and principle, which Government of Rwanda set of moving services not moving people. This is imperative for service delivery sector as it leads to evidence-based planning and informs timely and articulate decisions.
All nine modules of the National Digital Civil Registration and Vital Statistics system that are now digitalised include birth, death, marriage, divorce, annulment of marriage, recognition, adoption, guardianship and legitimization.
Rwanda law governing family and people was amended in 2020 to legalise digitalisation of CRVS – a move which opened the door to online service which is accessed distantly.
End.
