Governance and Decentralisation Sector Working Group meet
Kigali, on 18 October 2022, the Governance and Decentralisation Sector Working Group convened to deliberate on how to streamline the implementation and agree on a catch up plan for the recommendations from the Governance and Decentralisation Sector Strategic Plan (2018-2024) mid-term review report.
The ad-hoc meeting brought together different public institutions and partners involved in the Governance and Decentralization Sector.
In his address as the Co-chair and on behalf of the partners, Dr. Marc De Santis, Regional Director for Swiss Cooperation Office said that this meeting is an opportunity to taking stock from the achievements and the foundation laid and decide jointly how “we want to move forward as a sector”.
In his opening remarks as the chair of the Governance and Decentralization Sector Working Group, Mr Dusengiyumva Samuel, Permanent Secretary at MINALOC highlighted that the meeting was organized to discuss ways to operationalize and strengthen this sector-working group.
“MINALOC recognizes the role and contributions of all stakeholders both development partners and local actors to spur advancement of governance and decentralization agenda.” He said
“I look forward to more cooperation and collaboration among our partners in order to strengthen the work of the Sector Working Group as well as exchange with the other Sector Working Groups” He added
Mr Dusengiyumva reiterated the commitment of MINALOC to continuously work with all stakeholders in an organized and coordinated manner.
