MINALOC Leadership attend Citizens’ Assemblies
As citizens’ outreach takes place every Tuesday, the Minister for Local Government Prof. Shyaka Anastase and the Minister of State for Social Affairs Dr. Mukabaramba Alvera joined Tuesday 18 June 2019, the residents of Kamonyi District and Rwamagana District respectively at weekly Assemblies of the Citizens known as ‘Inteko z’Abaturage’.
The outreach programme provides opportunity and platforms for the citizens to interact with their leaders including Ministers.
Prof. Shyaka Anastase graced the assembly that took place at Ruramba Village, Rugarika Sector in Kamonyi District. The Ruramba is ranked third among the best villages in the whole Southern Province.
On the other hand, MoS Dr. Mukabaramba Alvera was at Urugero Village, Muhazi Sector, in Rwamagana District.
In their remarks, both leaders emphasised on positivity and role of Rwandan communities’ assemblies in enhancing good governance, citizens’ participation and aspirations to improve their lives despite some hindrances.
They also called upon all local leaders to get closer to citizens so that they can diagnose problems they are facing and work with them to fix them.
